Jane Yelland obtained a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2013, and is a registered social worker.

Jane then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2018.

Jane commenced her articles at the beginning of 2019, and simultaneously completed a postgraduate course in Cyber Law at the University of the Witwatersrand in July 2019.

In August 2019, while doing her articles, Jane completed a Practical Legal Training (PLT) course specifically designed to prepare attorneys for their board exams to be admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

Jane wrote and passed all four board exams in February 2020, and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in November 2020.

Since being admitted, Jane has worked as an associate attorney at Terry Mahon Attorneys, who specialise in construction and contract law.

Jane completed a postgraduate course in Climate Change and Energy Law at the University of the Witwatersrand in June 2021.

Thereafter, on 1 July 2021, Jane registered and started her own legal practice under the name and style of JFY Attorneys Inc.

Since starting her own legal practice, Jane, went on to complete a course in Practical Management Training, offered by the Law Society of South Africa.

In February 2024, Jane was appointed Director: Legal at EE Business Intelligence (Pty) Ltd, while still running her own legal practice under the name and style of JFY Attorneys Inc.
